This floating turtle pontoon has a "wingspan" of 6 3/4 inches and is roughly 3/16 of an inch thick. One of the best design details is the center of the turtle, which features a cut-out pattern that looks exactly like a beehive (hexagonal cells). It’s a cool thematic touch that also provides the necessary gaps for bees to access the water safely.Buoyancy & PerformanceThe float is well-balanced. It sits just above the water line, providing a dry, stable landing pad for pollinators. I’ve had it out for a couple of days now, and it floats perfectly in the water feature without tipping or sinking. It feels solid enough for its intended purpose; while it isn’t built to take a lot of physical abuse, it doesn't need to—it just needs to stay afloat and weather the elements, which it seems capable of doing. The "Pollinator" ImpactWhile I haven’t spotted a bee on it quite yet, I know they are active in my yard and I'm looking forward to that first "customer" landing. There is a genuine warm fuzzy feeling that comes with knowing you’re providing a life-raft for the local bee population. It’s a simple way to aid the ecosystem while adding a bit of purple decor to the garden.Final SummaryOverall, this is a charming and functional piece of garden utility. It’s sized right to provide ample landing space without taking over a birdbath, and the beehive-style cutouts are both stylish and practical. If you want to feel good about supporting your local pollinators with a well-designed, floating station, this little turtle is a great way to do it.
