I like the color and the size of the unit. No assembly required as it’s a sturdy yet lightweight piece of plastic that floats over the top of water.

At the end of last summer, I was finding dead bees in my bird baths every evening. It was depressing - clearly, they needed water, but the sides of the birdbath didn’t provide them with enough traction or protection. I hope this will be the solution. It’s very lightweight and buoyant, and the honeycomb pattern should enable bees and butterflies to remain securely on “dry land” while drinking through the holes.I was afraid its presence would interfere with birds bathing, but I’m finding that it leaves enough room for them. If the birds hit it while bathing, it’s not going to hurt them at all, and it will immediately bounce back to the surface. Picture shows it in B0961YSN5P.This is a genius idea - so glad I found it.
I got this in February and took pictures to show how I will be using it. However, I won't be using this until Spring, when the bugs are actually out. This is a fairly rigid plastic that holds it shape and still floats. The honeycomb openings are small enough to keep bees/bugs from slipping in and drowning while also being large enough to provide a small pool for drinking. I've been looking for something like this - I usually just put marbles or rocks in a shallow bowl of water to allow for insects to access water in my garden. Now I can provide an alternative with my existing birdbaths, too. I don't know for sure if the water temperature will be affected by this floating in it, but the plastic does not seem to absorb heat at this time (again, it's Winter for me right now, so I can't verify this). I love this idea!! And it's decorative as well as functional, too!
cute, and it works

It’s sturdy and floats well on the water. Bees are already using it!

Great way to allow bees to get water. The butterfly shape goes perfect with my butterfly themed garden.
So cute, and the birds like it. I bought it for future butterflies, but little birds took right to it.

Wonderful butterfly shape, it has holes and doesn't sink when put on water. I'm using it in a large feeder bucket with water, to allow bees to drink. It's really nice, it works as even when my dog drinks from the bucket and submerges this plastic butterfly, it pops back up and is ready for bees or other insects to land on and take a drink safely without drowning! My goal is to set up a float valve in a suitable container, to ensure that the water is always available and not dried up, and use this for bees. It's a nice color, and hopefully it will last a long time, so far it's been good but we didnt have crazy summer heat and sun yet, so I don't know if this will fade. I will update my review if I have any issues with it.
I want to help the bees! and this seems to do that.. mostly. It floats, but birds come to use the bird bath too and so they knock it around and make it sink. I don't want to keep the birds out of the birdbath, but I was hoping this would be a bit more stable and hold up to their roughhousing. I will keep at it, because I really want to help the bees find places to drink water. I am happy with the purple color, it let's me spot it easy floating on the birdbath, and the size is nice too. So that's good. I'm overall happy with it and am glad to have it. Just not sure how to handle the birds is all..
This supports bees, but also small frogs and tiny geckos. It is a nice muted lavender-not at all garish like some gardening helpers, and is a pretty (and large-ish) shape. Looks great in my turquoise water feature and keeps me from worrying about any creature that may be in danger of drowning just because they are thirsty.
